Age: end of XIX century.

Condition: perfect.

Years ago we used to identify these rugs a “Flames Shirwans”. The trade American world calls them, probably more correctly, “Karagashli” from the name of a village in the Kuba district.

The rug is a typical Kuba for the hooked main border, for the birds/ crouched camels and the stylized lily flowers in the field. The texture itself is typically Kuba.

Tones are vivid and brilliant, included the curious brown abrash in the lower section of the field
