ISFAHAN /TEHERAN
Size: m. 2,00 x 1,40 - 6’5” x 4’6”
Age: first decades of XX centrury. Around 1910.
Condition: perfect.
It is curious but, in the same time, meaningless to try to know the real place of origin of the carpet.
In the period 1890–1920 the two productions, Isfahan and Teheran, were very similar and also the Teheran workshops started with Isfahan’s weavers.
It is very interesting to concentrate on the design. With no central medallion, the field is based on ivory lozenges within an elegant tendril pattern.
In the border, in spite of the several frames, a main band stands out.
