Age: first half of XX century.
Condition: perfect.
In the large field of European carpets the Portoguese ones stand as a unique experiment.
Heirs of the early Arrajolas carpets, pieces from early XX century have a balance of design that comes from the liberty style.
This piece has warps and wefts in cotton . This makes it more resistant than usual Portoguese carpets that have jute.
Several strawberries plants stand harmoniously on the ivory field within a small frame with the same pattern.
